Southern Maryland Kids Marketplace Fair
Saturday April 18, 2020 11am to 3pm
Downtown La Plata
Rocktoberfest, a 501c3 is excited to bring you The Southern MD Kids Marketplace Fair. This marketplace is designed for kids who create a product or service. They will need to develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. We believe that young entrepreneurs are role models for the next generation!
All registered vendors will receive their own Kids Business Plan template which is a necessity for successfully starting & running any business! Their business related questions will be answered by local business owners. Plus a special added bonus is the Chief of Business Development from the Charles County Economic Development Department has offered to help provide direction when completing the business plans and her support on how to approach their new business venture. You'll also receive an event set up checklist so you will be well prepared for your big day!
Keep updated with announcements by following us on Facebook, @rocktoberfestlp and joining the Southern Maryland Kids Marketplace Fair Event! Payment for participants and sponsors can be made online, see links below, or a check can be made payable to Rocktoberfest and mailed along with the registration form to C/O Island Music, 403 Charles St., La Plata, MD 20646.
The following are a few guidelines for the kids marketplace, other information can be found on the registration form:
Participants must be in kindergarten through 12th grade
All items for sale at each booth must be made by the child without help from an adult. If offering a service, the child must be capable of providing that service on their own (phone repair, alterations, lawn service, etc.)
Adults are asked not to sell/promote their child’s items/service during the event. The goal is to teach them what to do, not do it for them. Gentle guidance is always permitted!
Any child selling food MUST have their food license from the Charles County Health Department & will need to provide us a copy. This is required.
We invite you to invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs who live right here in Southern Maryland! Please consider becoming a sponsor of our Kids Marketplace Fair. Your support will help us provide events and resources for children in the Southern Maryland area.
